New Yorker is looking for a Chief Accountant in Almaty.

Currently we are looking for the candidate for the position of Chief Accountant to be responsible for organizing and maintaining accounting records, preparing financial and tax reports, ensuring compliance with accounting and tax regulations, and managing a team of subordinate accountants.

Job responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:

• Organize accounting of business and financial operations.
• Implement modern accounting methods and technologies; configure software according to legal changes.
• Ensure timely preparation and submission of accounting and tax reports; control tax payments.
• Provide information and documents for audits and inspections.
• Prepare management accounting data and respond to internal requests.
• Close cooperation with the tax department of the group in Germany: coordinating tax calculations and declarations; providing explanations and responding to inquiries as needed.
• Participation in the “fast” month-end closing according to group standards.
• Participation in the preparation of accounting and statistical reports.
• Manage the accounting team: task distribution, performance monitoring, training, and support.
• Account for assets, fixed and current assets, cash, and business transactions.
• Control document processing, conduct inventories, and oversee accounting audits.
• Ensure compliance with financial discipline, document security, and proper write-off procedures.
• Other accounting and office duties that may arise from time to time

• 6+ years of relevant accounting experience
• BA/BS in Accounting required
• Proficient with MS Office
• Foreign language upper-intermediate level: German or/and English
• Preferably CPA certification
• Working knowledge of Axapta/Microsoft Dynamics
• Experience with complex banking and accounting reconciliations
• Advanced Excel skills
• Previous retail industry experience and/or multinational company experience are a plus
