Position: Lawyer

Qualification / Skills Required:
- Bachelor's (Master’s) Degree (or equivalent) in Law;
- More than 2 (two) years experience in a law Firm or large professional services environment;
- Fluency in English and Russian (both written and oral);
- Well organized, thorough, diligent;
- Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process;
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction;
- Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience;
- The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking;
- Negotiation skills, ability to convey information effectively;
- The ability to persuade others to change their minds or behavior;
- Ability to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems;
- The ability to manage one's own time and the time of others;
- The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
- The ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).

JOB SUMMARY:
Represent clients in criminal and civil litigation and other legal proceedings, draw up legal documents, and manage or advise clients on legal transactions. May specialize in a single area or may practice broadly in many areas of law.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Prepare and draft legal documents, such as contracts, deeds, wills, patent applications, mortgages, leases, etc.
- Represent clients in court or before quasi-judicial or administrative agencies of government and conduct criminal and civil lawsuits, present evidence to defend clients or prosecute defendants in criminal or civil litigation.
- Prepare legal briefs and opinions, develop strategy, arguments, and testimony in preparation for presentation of case, and file appeals in state and federal courts of appeal.
- Analyze the probable outcomes of cases, using knowledge of legal precedents, examine legal data to determine advisability of defending or prosecuting lawsuit.
- Evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases, negotiate settlements of civil disputes.
- Gather evidence to formulate defense or to initiate legal actions, by such means as interviewing clients and witnesses to ascertain the facts of a case.
- Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses.
- Advise corporate clients concerning transactions of business involving internal affairs, stockholders, directors, officers, and corporate relations with general public.
- Advise clients concerning claim liability, advisability of prosecuting or defending lawsuits, or legal rights and obligations.
- Supervise and coordinate activities of subordinate legal personnel.
- Study Constitution, statutes, decisions, regulations, and ordinances of quasi-judicial bodies to determine ramifications for cases.
- Search for and examine public and other legal records to write opinions or establish ownership.
- Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law.
- Help develop federal and state programs, draft and interpret laws and legislation, and establish enforcement procedures.
- Communicating with people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources. This information can be exchanged in person, in writing, or by telephone or e-mail.
