We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Art Assistant with a proven track record of working with students. This role will support the delivery and development of the digital art curriculum alongside practical workshops, providing technical assistance to students and staff across junior and senior school levels, including sixth form.

Line Manager’s Job Title: Head of Art

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the implementation and development of digital art curriculum in the classroom, offering technical guidance and support to students and teachers.
• Lead drawing and painting workshops for sixth form students, and assist with practical sessions across junior and senior school art classes when required.
• Assist the Art Technician and teaching staff with digital resource management.
• Provide classroom support during lessons, helping students with both academic and technical aspects of drawing, painting, and digital art projects.
• Communicate effectively with staff and students, supporting a positive learning environment.
• Work independently and collaboratively within the art department and wider school team.
• Maintain organisation of art resources and digital equipment to ensure smooth lesson delivery.

Person Specification:

• Proven experience of working with students in a school environment.
• Relevant art qualifications or experience with a strong foundation in academic and technical skills.
• Confidence and competence in digital art tools and software.
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and initiative.
• Excellent communication skills with students and stafff.
• Passion for fostering creativity and technical skill development in pupils.
