Key Responsibilities:

1. Legal Advisory:

   • Provide comprehensive legal advice on a broad range of banking and financial matters.
   • Support corporate banking activities, including loan documentation, syndications, trade finance, and treasury operations.

2. Contract Management:

   • Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents, including loan agreements, security documents, and other banking contracts.
   • Ensure all contracts and agreements comply with relevant laws and regulations.

3. Risk Management:

   • Identify and assess legal risks associated with corporate banking transactions and propose risk mitigation strategies.
   • Develop and implement policies and procedures to manage legal risks effectively.

4. Regulatory Compliance:

   • Stay updated on changes in banking laws and regulations and ensure the organization’s compliance.
   • Liaise with regulatory bodies and respond to regulatory inquiries and investigations.

5. Dispute Resolution:

   • Manage and resolve legal disputes and litigation related to banking activities.
   • Work with external legal counsel as needed to address complex legal issues.

6. Corporate Governance:

   • Provide legal support for corporate governance matters, including board meetings and corporate resolutions.
   • Ensure compliance with corporate governance standards and best practices.

7. Training and Development:

   • Conduct training sessions for internal stakeholders on legal and regulatory requirements.
   • Mentor and guide junior legal staff, fostering their professional development.

Qualifications:

1. Experience:

   • Minimum of 5 years of legal experience, with a focus on banking and financial services.
   • Proven track record in a senior legal role within a corporate banking environment.

2. Skills and Competencies:

   • In-depth knowledge of banking laws and regulations.
   • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
   • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
   • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
