We are looking for an experienced Lead Scala Developer to join our dynamic team.

You will be instrumental in creating scalable backend systems leveraging microservice architecture and cloud technologies. If building high-performance systems excites you and you're ready to embrace new challenges, we invite you to apply.

This position offers remote setup with the flexibility to work from any location in Kazakhstan, whether it's your home or well-equipped offices in Astana, Almaty or Karaganda.

Responsibilities

• Write backend services using Scala within microservice architecture
• Create solutions utilizing Amazon Web Services
• Participate in defining project requirements with cross-functional teams
• Ensure existing applications perform optimally
• Identify and resolve issues efficiently
• Engage in architectural discussions and contribute to decisions
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in backend development with Scala
• Leadership experience of at least 1 year
• Proficiency in microservice architecture
• Strong knowledge of Amazon Web Services
• Collaborative mindset and ability to work in a team environment
• B2-level or higher fluency in written and spoken English

Nice to have

• Competency in Kafka
• Understanding of Kubernetes
• Proficiency in Kibana and Grafana
• Background in data engineering
• Familiarity with the Java programming language
