Your role:

You will be part of the testing and monitoring sub-group of the Independence Team. In particular, you will be an integral part of the team that carries out the independence monitoring and testing programme (which ensures personal independence policies and procedures are met). You will also be involved in support of the internal Deloitte Entity Search and Compliance (DESC) system contains information about Deloitte’s clients, business partners, vendors, and their related entities to help Deloitte professionals maintain compliance with independence requirements. You will also be expected to work on any other independence questions, consultations and projects that might arise.

About the group

Members of the Independence Team are responsible for promoting compliance of the firm and its individuals with global and local risk management procedures and auditor independence requirements. Failure to comply with independence policies can have very negative consequences for both Deloitte and its clients. The Independence Team develops policies, procedures and instructions, and is responsible for communicating and educating employees about the variety of controls and tools specifically designed to minimize professional risks in the area of independence.

Duties:

• communicate with a variety of colleagues verbally and also in writing;
• become proficient in the use of Deloitte software;
• support Independence Manager/s in carrying out the monitoring and testing programmes;
• review incoming requests regarding the accuracy of data presented;
• gather, research, analyse and organise information from internal databases/provided by others;
• carry out additional duties based on the needs of a specific colleague/department – these may be for the broader Independence Team.

Candidate requirements:

• a bachelor’s degree, preferably in economic, finance, risk management, law or linguistics;
• a basic understanding of the specifics of the activities of major companies in the Caspian region and further afield;
• the ability to work comfortably and collaboratively as part of a team, and independently in certain cases, and work on several tasks simultaneously, sometimes under time pressure;
• an analytical mind; strong attention to detail; the ability to analyse information critically — draw up the correct logical conclusions based on available facts and arguments;
• the ability to understand the requirements of internal regulations and work with confidential information;
• the motivation to provide our internal clients with quality services;
• excellent verbal and written communication skills in Russian and English;
• the ability to follow instructions and act within the framework of their scope of responsibility, offering and implementing improvement initiatives;
• good computer skills (MS Office).
