As an international British independent school in Almaty, we are looking for a Senior IT-Specialist.
1. General Provisions:
1.1. This Job Description is an internal regulatory document of JSC “Haileybury Almaty” (hereinafter referred to as the “School”), Information Technology Department, and defines the job responsibilities, rights, accountability, skills, and
requirements for the position of Senior IT Specialist.
1.2. The Senior IT Specialist is classified as a specialist and performs duties according to the Charter of the School, the Laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and this Job Description.
1.3. The Senior IT Specialist is appointed and dismissed by the General Director of JSC “Haileybury Almaty” in accordance with the current labor legislation.
1.4. The Senior IT Specialist performs duties under the general supervision of the IT Director and collaborates with IT Specialists. Work assignments are determined by the IT Director in the form of written and/or verbal instructions.
1.5. The Senior IT Specialist coordinates work with the IT Director.
1.6. In the absence of the Senior IT Specialist, their duties are performed by another specialist appointed by the General Director, who assumes the corresponding rights and responsibilities stipulated by this Job Description.
2. Qualifications and Skills:
2.1. A candidate for the position of Senior IT Specialist must have a higher professional education and at least 3 years of relevant experience.
2.2. Required knowledge includes: Operating systems: Windows Server, macOS. Active Directory structure, including Azure AD. Administration of cloud platforms (Google and Microsoft Office 365). Apple School Manager and device registration processes. Network routing and TCP/IP protocol stack. Print server management. School antivirus administration. Cloud PBX management. Online conferencing tools (Zoom, Google Meet, MS Teams). Microsoft, Google, and Cisco certifications are an advantage. Decision-making skills on when to act independently or escalate to a supervisor.
2.3. Required skills include: Team coordination and collaboration. Time management and personal efficiency. Analytical thinking and problem-solving.
2.4. The Senior IT Specialist is guided by the School Charter, Employment Contract, internal regulations, and this Job Description.
3. Goals and Objectives:
3.1. Ensure the operability of all IT systems in the School.
3.2. Participate in IT Department projects.
3.3. Generate periodic reports for school leadership.
3.4. Advise staff on IT system-related queries.
4. Job Responsibilities
4.1. Install, maintain, and troubleshoot servers and associated software.
4.2. Resolve hardware and software issues, coordinating with vendors or other personnel as necessary.
4.3. Act as a liaison with vendors for repair and maintenance services.
4.4. Provide ongoing technical support for computer equipment, including printers and peripherals.
4.5. Research technical specifications for new equipment purchases.
4.6. Test and implement new technologies to improve deployment efficiency.
4.7. Perform other duties assigned by IT leadership.
5. Rights The Senior IT Specialist has the right to:
5.1. Report identified deficiencies to senior management within their competence.
5.2. Access documents related to their responsibilities and rights.
5.3. Propose improvements related to assigned duties.
5.4. Request information and reports necessary for job performance.
5.5. Assign tasks to subordinates within their functional scope (if applicable).
5.6. Demand a properly equipped workspace and support from the management.
5.7. Sign and approve documents within their authority (if applicable).
5.8. Enhance professional skills through training, workshops, and conferences.
6. Accountability:
The Senior IT Specialist is accountable for:
6.1. Improper performance or non-performance of duties as stipulated by this Job Description.
6.2. Offenses committed during work activities within the framework of current administrative, labor, and criminal legislation.
6.3. Material damage caused to the organization in accordance with applicable laws.
6.4. Unauthorized use of official authority for personal gain.
6.5. Failure to follow directives from a direct supervisor.
6.6. Neglect of safety regulations posing risks to the School or its staff.
6.7. Inaccurate information regarding job performance.
7. Child Protection and Safety
All employees at JSC “Haileybury Almaty” are responsible for promoting and ensuring the welfare of children:
7.1. Encourage and protect the well-being of children under their care or contact. 7.2. Maintain discipline and promote health and safety of students during school hours and approved activities outside the School.
7.3. Be familiar with the School's child protection policies and attend relevant training when required.
7.4. Report any suspicious situations to authorized School personnel.
