Responsibilities:
• Conducting research and analyses to assess operational effectiveness, processes, and stakeholders involved in current projects
• Assisting with operational issues within ongoing projects
• Developing consistent and concise presentations and analytical notes for management teams and other stakeholders, offering analysis and recommendations to facilitate strategic decision-making
• Engaging in various facets of corporate development (e.g., mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, investments, bank financing), which includes constructing complex financial models and valuations, aiding in negotiations, and more
• Proactive researching of potential investment opportunities across various sectors
Examples of projects in 2023-24:
• Construction of a large warehouse, from concept to completion, with an estimated investment of ~$40-80 million.
• JV agreement conclusion with a big Chinese mining machinery company (MoU, negotiations)
• Valuation of different type of companies: electric vehicle charging point, fintech company, big construction and mining machinery company, roadside assitance company
• Feasibility study for establishing a metal products manufacturing plant (market analysis, technological process assessment, financial evaluation and JV opportunities negotiations)
• Feasibility study for establishing an agro-industrial plant
• Acquisition of a ~$10 million company in an agro sector (from idea and target search to DD and difficult commercial agreement signing)
• Acquisition of a sheep farm with a value of ~$1 million, involving assessment, negotiations, and due diligence.
• Development of a plan for launching a big metal ore beneficiation factory (metals&mining sector)
• Establishment of a trading house specializing on construction and mining spare parts across Kazakhstan, Russia, and other CIS countries
• Establishment of a fuel cards startup company
Qualifications:
• Alumni of top universities (preferably with major in Economics/Finance or Math/Physics) with strong academic record
• Minimum of three to five years of relevant experience (Big4, Strategy consulting, IB/VC/PE, strategy/corporate development/M&A departments of the biggest corporations)
• Proven thoughtful and dynamic leadership in a fast-paced environment
• Proven experience in managing project teams/cross-functional teams; deal management experience from the very beginning to the end
• Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees (including C-level)
Critical Skills:
• Self-starter / takes initiative
• Problem solver, comfortable with complexity/ambiguity, strong structuring skills
• Efficient time manager/organized, works well under pressure, multitasker
• Strong communicator, excellent interpersonal skills
• Robust knowledge of Corporate Finance and Accounting, with an experience in building complex financial models
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel/PP
