Position: Senior AI Product Engineer

Client: UK (London) - remote

Our client - a venture-funded startup on a mission to transform compliance for regulated brands, turning what’s often seen as a frustrating, manual process into something powerful and creative.

### What You'll Do ????

Design agentic products for compliance: Build products that combine foundation models with domain-specific tools to automate regulatory checks, risk detection, and compliance workflows.

Optimise for production scale: Build systems that seamlessly support rapid client onboarding and expand our throughput by orders of magnitude, while maintaining reliability, accuracy, and performance.

Pioneer multi-modal compliance analysis: leverage LLMs to analyse multi-modal assets with the nuance of real-world compliance, tackling subjective and context-dependent cases by thinking beyond black-and-white rule application.

Build validation & evaluation infrastructure: Develop rigorous testing, monitoring, and guardrail systems to ensure AI outputs are accurate, consistent and explainable.

Steer the future of regulatory AI: Work closely with the CTO and product team to align AI innovations with new industry regulations and strategic goals.

### Who You Are ????

An AI-native engineer: You actively use AI in your workflow, whether for prototyping, debugging, or exploring new architectures, and see it as a force multiplier.

Demonstrable ability to build and ship AI-enabled products: external facing applications, used by real-world users

A production ML expert: You’ve deployed AI systems at scale, bringing strong backend skills (Python is a must) and experience building APIs such as with FastAPI.

An LLM practitioner: You’ve built real-world systems with LLMs, using agent frameworks like LangGraph or LangChain, RAG pipelines, and robust evals.

A pragmatic builder: You thrive in ambiguity, balancing research with production constraints, and know when simple beats complex.

A team shaper: You’re eager to influence culture, mentor future hires, and help scale our engineering team from the ground up.

### Nice to Have ✨

- Prior experience in RegTech, LegalTech, or working with regulatory data
- Contributions to the AI/ML community (open-source, publications, talks)
- Experience optimising AI models through fine-tuning, distillation, or human-in-the-loop validation

Fluent English is a must.
