PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Marketing and PR Manager is responsible for leading and managing all marketing, communication, public relations (PR), and branding activities within Metro Cash & Carry Kazakhstan. This role involves developing and implementing effective marketing strategies, managing internal and external communications, overseeing public relations efforts, ensuring brand consistency across all channels, and elevating brand recognition and equity. The role also includes managing the call center team, which handles both inbound and outbound customer calls, to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Main responsibilities:

Marketing Strategy and Execution

  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to increase brand awareness, market share, and customer engagement.
  • Oversee all marketing campaigns, including digital marketing, content marketing, social media, and traditional advertising.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure marketing activities align with overall business goals.
  • Manage marketing budgets and optimize spending to achieve the best ROI

  • Develop and execute internal and external communication strategies to promote company values and objectives.
  • Oversee the creation of high-quality content for various communication channels, including press releases, newsletters, and corporate websites.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media and key stakeholders to enhance the company's reputation.

Public Relations (PR)

  • Develop and manage public relations programs to enhance brand positioning and maintain a positive public image.
  • Plan and coordinate public events, sponsorships, and CSR activities to promote the company's brand and values.
  • Monitor industry trends, news, and public perception to proactively address potential reputational risks.

Agency and Vendor Management

  • Manage relationships with external agencies, including creative, PR, and digital agencies, to ensure the effective execution of marketing and PR campaigns.
  • Evaluate and sеlесtvendors based on quality, cost-effectiveness, and strategic alignment with company goals.

Call Center Management

  • Oversee the call center team, ensuring efficient handling of inbound and outbound calls to support customer inquiries, sales, and marketing efforts.
  • Implement training and performance management processes to ensure high-quality customer service and achievement of KPIs.

Branding Management

  • Develop and manage brand positioning and strategy to ensure strong brand equity and market differentiation.
  • Ensure all marketing and communication materials are consistent with the brand guidelines and values.
  • Oversee the creation of brand assets, including logos, packaging, and promotional materials, to enhance brand recognition and loyalty.
  • Conduct market research and analyze consumer insights to refine brand strategy and positioning.
  • Monitor and report on brand performance and perception in the market and recommend strategies to improve brand strength

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing and PR team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Set clear objectives, monitor performance, and provide regular feedback and development opportunities for team members.

Skills, knowledge, experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CIM, PRSA) is a plus.
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in marketing, branding communications, or public relations, preferably in an international company. Experience managing teams and working with external agencies is required.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinking with a creative mindset.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
  • Experience in digital marketing tools, social media management platforms, and MS Office Suite.
  • Fluency in English and Russian is required. Knowledge of Kazakh is an advantage
