The LEAN Maintenance Engineer is responsible for implementing and optimizing maintenance strategies based on LEAN principles, with the goal of improving operational efficiency, reducing downtime, and maximizing equipment reliability. Working within the railway sector, this role collaborates closely with production, maintenance, and quality teams to identify continuous improvement opportunities and lead transformation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Apply LEAN methodologies (Kaizen, TPM, 5S, SMED, VSM, etc.) to maintenance processes in railway operations;
• Analyze equipment failure and performance data to propose improvements;
• Design and implement preventive and predictive maintenance plans;
• Coordinate continuous improvement projects focused on cost reduction and increased availability;
• Train technical staff in LEAN practices and improvement tools;
• Support internal and external audits related to maintenance;
• Monitor key maintenance indicators (MTTR, MTBF, equipment availability, etc.);
• Participate in the design or modification of systems and processes to ensure efficient maintenance from the outset.

Requirements:

• Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field4;
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in railway systems;
• Strong knowledge of LEAN methodologies and continuous improvement tools;
• Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems);
• Analytical mindset and results-oriented;
• Strong communication skills and ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in LEAN Manufacturing or Six Sigma;
• Experience in automated or electromechanical railway systems;
• Technical English proficiency.

• Work schedule: 5/2, from 8:30 to 17:15, with a 45-minute lunch break;
