We are seeking a Junior Penetration Tester to join our Central Asian and Caucasus team at KPMG. This role is perfect for an aspiring cybersecurity specialist with foundational skills in penetration testing and a desire to grow in a global network of audit, tax, and advisory professionals.
As our Junior Penetration Tester you will:
- Perform in-depth assessments of an organization’s technical infrastructure to identify vulnerabilities and security gaps.
- Conduct proactive evaluations of host-based logs, network activity, and infrastructure to detect previously unidentified compromises.
- Execute penetration testing procedures to uncover system vulnerabilities and assess the effectiveness of security controls.
- Analyze security testing results and assist clients in identifying and implementing effective remediation solutions.
- Collaborate on the creation of detailed, clear, and actionable penetration testing reports tailored to diverse audiences.
- Provide insights into an organization’s readiness to defend against cyber threats and secure critical information assets.
You’re the perfect match for this role if you:
- Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Have at least 1+ years of relevant work experience in cybersecurity or penetration testing.
- Are fluent in Russian and possess at least Intermediate-level proficiency in both Kazakh and English.
- Have a solid understanding of Windows, Unix, TCP/IP, IDS/IPS, and web content filtering.
- Are familiar with IT General Controls and frameworks like NIST CSF or ISO 27001 (Preferred).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Possess certifications such as CEH, CompTIA Security+, eJPT, or PJPT.
- Have experience with at least one object-oriented programming language (e.g., Python, Ruby, Java).
- Practical experience using online platforms like HackTheBox, TryHackMe, or PortSwigger.
- Have participated in Capture the Flag (CTF) competitions.
