Andersen is hiring a Junior Android Developer in Almaty. The project involves designing a microservices-based banking platform for mobile and web apps with secure integrations.

The customer is one of the oldest and most reliable financial institutions in Kazakhstan, operating in the banking sector for over 30 years. It offers a full range of financial services for both individual and corporate clients, including business lending, mortgages, consumer loans, deposits, payment services, and digital banking solutions. The company focuses on reliability, innovation, and sustainable growth, helping clients achieve their financial goals and contributing to the country’s economic development.

The project is focused on designing a microservices-based banking platform for mobile apps and a web admin panel. It includes authentication, biometrics, card tokenization, payments, and integrations with external systems, ensuring secure and scalable interaction through API Gateway, microservices, and Data Lake.

Responsibilities:

• Implementing tasks in Kotlin for Android.
• Performing UI adaptation: building layouts and working with Jetpack Compose.
• Builds and testing: running local builds for Android and HarmonyOS, executing unit/UI tests on emulators and real devices.
• Implementing OpenAPI calls, handling errors and retry logic.
• Working with local storage and implementing basic synchronization scenarios.
• Logging and diagnostics: collecting logs, preparing error reports, and assisting in incident investigation.
• Fixing linter and static analysis findings and participating in code reviews.

Must-haves:

• Experience as an Android Developer for 6+ months.
• Strong knowledge of Kotlin; confident use of Android Studio and Git.
• Solid knowledge of Jetpack Compose and ability to build layouts based on designs.
• Basic experience with REST APIs and JSON; ability to integrate and handle responses.
• Familiarity with Kotlin Coroutines and basic understanding of Flow.
• Basic knowledge of Android SDK and application lifecycle.
• Experience with basic testing: JUnit and understanding of unit testing.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum/Kanban methodologies.
• Experience working with Jira, Confluence, and Figma.
• Level of English – from Intermediate and above.

Nice-to-haves:

• Basic knowledge of Room (local storage) and WorkManager (background tasks).
• Understanding of dependency injection (Hilt/Dagger).
• Experience with Gradle (Kotlin DSL) and basic familiarity with Fastlane/CI (GitLab CI).
• Experience with UI testing: Espresso or Compose UI tests; experience with MockK/Mockito.
• Familiarity with profiling tools: Android Profiler, LeakCanary.
• Familiarity with mobile security concepts: Android Keystore, BiometricPrompt, ProGuard/R8.
• Experience with observability tools: Sentry/Crashlytics.
